Dutchess County Economic Development Corporation Names IIC 2003 Main Street Entrepreneur
11/13/03 - Poughkeepsie, NY – At an awards ceremony attended by over 200 local business leaders, Indotronix International Corporation (IIC) was recognized as the Dutchess County Economic Development Corporation's (DCEDC) 2003 Business Excellence Award winner in the Main Street Entrepreneur category. The award was accepted on behalf of IIC by President and CEO Babu Mandava.
In presenting the award, the DCEDC recognized IIC’s commitment to business development in the city of Poughkeepsie. IIC was specifically cited for the following:
Increased employment – IIC and its subsidiaries currently employ 160 people in their Poughkeepsie headquarters.
Business development – IIC has expanded operations approximately tenfold since locating in downtown Poughkeepsie. In addition, IIC has launched several subsidiaries that operate from the Poughkeepsie headquarters facility.
Improving facilities – IIC has invested over $2 million in capital improvements to their headquarters facility.
Community support – IIC has provided extensive support for local organizations including United Way of Dutchess County, the Anderson School, Bardavon 1869 Opera House, Poughkeepsie Area Chamber of Commerce and numerous other organizations and activities.
In accepting this award, Mr. Mandava spoke of his appreciation for receiving the award and thanked the DCEDC, the Poughkeepsie Area Chamber of Commerce, and the managers and employees of IIC for their roles in helping IIC to be recognized. When asked about the award, Mr. Mandava responded, "It is a great honor for us to receive this award and to be recognized by our peers in the local business community." He continued, "Poughkeepsie and Dutchess County are great places in a great state in the greatest country in the world. IIC hopes to continue to play an important role in the bright economic future of this region."
