Robust Systems to Ensure System Availability

• Facility Security: IIC’s Poughkeepsie data center is protected 24x7 by CCTV monitoring, multiple alarm systems, and zone-based badge/passcode access restrictions.
• Data Security: Our systems are protected by industry standard authentication/authorization, port-level firewalls, intrusion detection software, and data encryption. IIC segregates customer data and restricts access to it on a strict “need to know” basis. IIC also requires our data center support staff to sign comprehensive Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure agreements. To ensure that customer data is fully protected, IIC conducts regular security audits of our facilities, systems, and staff.
• Network Redundancy: Our corporate location has six pairs of fiber-optic lines with two separate entry points into our building. Each fiber set terminates at a separate POP. These last mile connections run to a Sonnet-ring to which multiple ISPs are connected. Upon any break in the connection, our corporate network will failover to the redundant connections without any decrease in performance. Guaranteed uptime from our ISP is 99.9%.
• Fire Suppression: Our data center is equipped with an FM-200 fire suppression system that uses equipment-sensitive chemicals to prevent damage to IT equipment in the event of a fire.
• Redundant Air Conditioning: Our data center features two dedicated air conditioning systems to provide the required equipment cooling. Each system is capable of handling the cooling needs of the entire data center.
• Backup Power: Our data center is equipped with APC UPS systems capable of responding to any power outage, surge in power, or drop in power. We have also installed a generator system in case of an extended outage. This system starts automatically during power outages and comes online if the outage exceeds ten seconds. The generators have sufficient capacity to run all data center computing equipment as well as data center air conditioning, security systems, lighting, and other essential services. The generators have sufficient fuel capacity to run continuously for three days.
• Data Backup: Our corporate data is backed up to our Network Area Storage system and is vaulted to other storage devices. Backed up data is regularly written to tape for offsite storage. If required, IIC is capable of electronically vaulting data to other sites. IIC is also capable of mirroring existing data arrays. Non-functional critical servers can be repaired/replaced within 24 hours.
