IIC’s Offshore Subsidiary Achieves CMM Level 3 Certification
ISPL Demonstrates Software Process Maturity
02/18/04 Poughkeepsie, NY – IIC Systems Private Limited (ISPL), Indotronix International Corporation (IIC)’s offshore software development subsidiary, today announced their certification to Level 3 of the Software Engineering Institute’s Capability Maturity Model (CMM). This certification provides independent verification of ISPL’s software process maturity as measured against an internationally accepted software industry standard. With this certification, ISPL joins an elite group of CMM certified software companies based in India. This achievement also marks the completion of the first phase of the company’s plan to become CMM Level 5 certified by the end of 2004.
ISPL’s CMM Level 3 certification was announced after the conclusion of a comprehensive independent evaluation of ISPL’s software process conducted by KPMG. This evaluation examined ISPL’s implementation of the activities associated with each of the twelve Key Practice Areas that comprise the CMM model. In achieving CMM Level 3 certification, ISPL was able to demonstrate that its management and engineering activities have been integrated into a standardized, documented software process that is applied to all development and maintenance projects. ISPL is currently refining its quantitative process management and continual improvement activities to demonstrate the process maturity required for CMM Level 5 certification.
As ISPL’s parent company, IIC plans to leverage ISPL’s CMM Level 3 certification to more effectively market the company’s offshore software development capabilities. IIC’s offshore development methodology combines the company’s U.S.-based project and customer relationship management with ISPL’s offshore software development capabilities to deliver high quality, cost-effective IT solutions.
