Job Summary:
The Electrical Technician I will join the operations and maintenance team in Columbus, Ohio, working a rotating day shift (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM). This position involves assisting with preventative maintenance of electrical systems, generators, UPS, HVAC, and other critical infrastructure. The technician will work closely with the site engineering team to ensure electrical systems are operational and compliant with industry standards.
Responsibilities:
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems (24V to 480V AC, PLCs, VFDs).
Support electrical expansion projects and assist with critical system inspections.
Adhere to electrical codes (NFPA70e) and safety standards, including lockout/tagout and PPE use.
Perform preventive maintenance and respond to customer feedback on work orders.
Assist with equipment evaluations to identify potential failures.
Operate diagnostic tools and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Maintain a strict schedule while remaining flexible to customer needs.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of electrical experience (data centers, industrial, or similar environments).
Ability to work at heights (up to 30 feet).
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Additional Information:
Must pass background check and substance test.
May require a driver’s license and ability to obtain a security access badge.
Must be flexible with work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk extensively, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks (bending, stooping).
Ability to differentiate wire color codes and read documents on a screen.
Fluency in Microsoft Office and ability to interact professionally with clients.
Special Requirements:
Wear appropriate PPE (steel-toe boots, safety glasses, etc.).
Experience with chemicals and precision equipment is a plus.
Must be willing to work overtime and adjust to changing work schedules.
