The Metrology And Test Equipment Services (MATES) organization is looking for Metrology & Calibration Technicians to join our Metrology team in North Charleston, South Carolina.
This role will be responsible for using calibration standards to calibrate, adjust, certify, maintain, and repair Measurement Test & Equipment (MT&E)/process equipment using approved calibration procedures, process specifications, equipment drawings, and M&TE /process equipment manufacturer's performance specifications.
In addition to Metrology responsibilities, this role may also involve activities including, but not limited to: logistics associated with routing calibrated assets to remote labs and suppliers for calibration services (shippers, purchase contracts, follow-up and supplier backlog management).
This position may also involve aspects of Test Asset Management and Property Management including asset tagging, redeployment, storage and surplus.
Metrology And Test Equipment Services (MATES) provides a full spectrum of test asset and metrology services and support for internal customers and products through all phases of the product lifecycle.
Services include: calibration/certification for dimensional/optics, electrical/electronic and mechanical/physical measurement and test assets, sourcing management, measurement solutions, repair & maintenance, test asset selection and use, acquisition, allocation, resource and lifecycle management, and specialized test services.
MATES is comprised of engineers, technicians and administrative personnel who support programs, sites, business units and external/government customers by providing best value test asset
management and metrology services through all phases of the product lifecycle.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate and Experienced Level Metrology & Calibration Technicians.
Position Responsibilities:
Plan, check, set up, and operate Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) and/or process equipment
Conduct routine tests, analyze data and document results
Troubleshoot and recommend resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems
Update equipment status using established systems and complete associated paperwork
Ensure equipment is ready for calibration per metrology processes
Prioritize and perform work according to automated daily report list, hot list, or as assigned by lead technician
Perform visual check of M&TE/process equipment for discrepancies and wear
Identify, document, and route non-conforming items in accordance with metrology lab processes
Provide information and clarification to customers on metrology processes
Work with other employees engaged in the calibration and certification of M&TE, and assist in the development of new calibration processes and procedures
Perform computations necessary to analyze measurement test results
Perform logistics associated with routing calibrated assets to remote labs and suppliers for calibration services
Perform tasks associated with Test Asset Management and Property Management including asset tagging, redeployment, storage and surplus
Works under general supervision
Required Skill Set :
1+ years of experience in metrology and/or calibration/certification, and/or instrumentation
Desired Skills Set :
5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and
experience
3+ years of experience in metrology and/or calibration/certification, and/or instrumentation
Experience working on a quality and production orientated team
Mechanical background experience
Education Qualification :
Experienced (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3
or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
(e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).
