Shift: Weekend Day: 8hr Fr: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm; 12hr Sa, Su: 7:00 am – 8:00 pm; 8hr Mo: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm EST
Duration: Contract to hire

Job Description:
Candidate should possess skills that are aligned to the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles with a focus on the discipline specific to this position. SRE is a software engineering approach to Client’s SRC Operations. SRE professionals use software as a tool to manage systems, solve problems, and automate tasks. Engineers’ focus specializes in improving all aspects of reliability, acting as a conduit between infrastructure and application teams on support issues and improving tools, automation, processes, and software.
Responsibilities | SRE:
• Monitor systems and infrastructure to maintain operational and performance levels
• Rotational on-call responsibilities
• Work closely with other SRC professionals/engineers when issues arise, collabo*** on troubleshooting, and provide consultation/resolution with events/incidents
• Anticipate potential problems before they become impacting and collabo*** to determine solutions
• Gather and analyze metrics from tools and system/application logs to assist in performance tuning, fault finding, and resolution
• Create sustainable systems and services through automation, processes enhancement, tools, and noise reduction
• Build automation to manage the SRC operations and eliminate/minimize manual functions and toil
• Collabo*** with Application/Infrastructure support engineers and operations teams
• Engage in post-incident reviews for improvements and determining the cause to prevent recurrence
• Document work to turn findings into repeatable actions via knowledge articles
• Mentoring and coaching junior engineers
Responsibilities | Discipline:
• Apply skills and knowledge to perform specified support functions. Primary duties will be to support and resolve Database problems; to plan, execute and manage database implementations and to ensure all security, quality and compliance requirements are met
• Tasks include monitor and tune production Oracle Database implementations
• Install, configure, and administer Oracle RAC DBs version 19c and above, including the design, configuration and operation of n-node clusters, data recovery, and user/group/role definition
• Configuration management, performance tuning and administration of mission critical production databases
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Comprehensive background with DBA support in a complex environment
• Database skills must include installation/upgrade of the database software on Linux platform, RMAN backup and recovery of the Oracle Database, performance tuning, migration, data guard replication, configuration, and security administration
• Familiarity of the Data movement utilities
• Knowledge of Golden Gate Replication and UNIX scripting
• Experience in SQL server/MySQL administration is a plus
• Good understanding of the Linux/UNIX environments
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collabo*** effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team, taking ownership of tasks and driving them to completion
• ITIL fundamentals
Education / Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required (or equivalent experience)
• 8 + years of work experience in Oracle RAC Database Administration
