Comm Hub Tech Lead

Project: 

Within Rx they have developed a communication platform/ecosystem.  There is a composition component and communication and distro component.  At enterprise level taking what they’ve build and scale it to make this Rx Solution an Enterprise Solution.  Have several requirements needed to meet around data and security so it can run in other UHG LOB’s.  Take and develop each capability and put a set of features that will allow scalability outside of just OptumRx

 

High-Level Individual Duties:

• Majority is Design work à understanding, creating new standards, working with the team to adopt those
• Coding is not daily, but they would do 25% hands-on keyboard coding
• Code Reviews
• Work across teams – not just the Dev teams, cross functional as well as architecture (works hand-in hand with the Quadient team)
  • Taking comms out of the Quadient tool and routing them to the right vendors
  • Managing comms / tracking events
  • OUTPUT of QUADIENT

 

Must-Haves (Concepts & Tools):

• Java / Springboot
• Azure – Cloud Native Apps and services (logic apps / function apps / event hub / Azure search / AKS)
  • Don’t need every single service, but we need breadth and depth
  • From a candidate stand-point, we are looking more-so for someone that comes from a Java BG and has 2-3 larger projects in Azure (the rest can be AWS)
    • To the above point, it would be good to show him someone with more Azure experience, even if they have more .NET Development and 2-3 projects / years doing Java/Springboot from a high-level
• Baseline / good testing skills
  • Engineers do Integration and Unit Tests
• Experience building pipelines for the Comm Hub
  • On the Quadient side, they will also harden these pipelines
  • Kubernetes / Docker – MUST
• Kafka – needs experience building producer / consumer API
  • PubSub model experience
• Really wants to see GraphQL / Apollo, but will have some flex
• Security BG is VERY helpful
  • OAuth and others…should know different ways to secure data
• React – just need the basics…this is not much of the work, specifically just the telemetry piece
