Position:  Data Analyst

Location: Hybrid 3 days a week (strongly prefers Hybrid)

Technology Hubs: Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Birmingham, AL, Dallas, TX

Technology Satellites: Cincinnati, OH, Miamisburg, OH, Downers Grove, IL , Overland Park, KS, Philadelphia, PA, Columbus, OH, Little Rock, AR, Jacksonville, FL

Duration: Contract to hire

Candidate Technical and skills profile:

Key responsibilities:

- Point of contact within their respective Line of Business for Data Source and Schema onboarding. They will work with the Enterprise Data Catalog Program Office to achieve the desired onboarding request.

- Develop and assist with curation plans for mnemonics being onboarded to Alation within their Line of Business.

- Write and maintain how to articles and line of business articles which promote the use of the Data Catalog for generating Business Value, all the while respecting Data Governance principles.

- Create and edit lineage diagrams manually in the Alation interface using the capabilities of the Manual Lineage Curation functionality.

- Create catalog sets which group data objects together and perform bulk edit operations on custom fields.

- Create and maintain line of business glossary(s) and approve cross functional glossary terms

- Add and update articles in a pending state for review and conversations.

- Add, update and monitor the use of tagging to suggest conformance and the use of standards.

- Recruit and onboard new Business Stewards and Subject Matter Experts.

- Train and mentor users on how to use the catalog - including search, conversations, endorsements, notification, watching and request for additions and changes.

- Participate in monthly stewardship meetings to report on progress, gather a list of recommended changes, explain new changes and additions to the catalog.

Must have technical skills/experience (ask for alternative/tool/version):

Alation Catalog Administration-
