Job Description :
I. Basic functions of the job:
Plans, lays out, tests, troubleshoots, modifies, repairs, and refurbishes complex precision mechanical devices, systems, subsystems, mechanisms and controls. Works under the general direction of supervisor, senior technicians, or engineering personnel, in research, design, development, and manufacturing environments. Work may be performed locally or on business travel.
II. Primary duties and responsibilities:
(Duties and responsibilities which occupy a major portion of time and importance in the job. Incumbent(s) perform one or more of the following duties.)
1. Inspects, tests, adjusts and certifies basic to complex assemblies, subassemblies, parts and systems for compliance with specifications and quality assurance practices following blueprints, schematics and inspection manuals using hand tools and precision testing equipment.
Performs maintenance, repair, corrosion control, and general refurbishment of a wide variety of Instrumentation Equipment and subcomponents.
2. Repairs basic to complex malfunctions by adjusting, calibrating, aligning or modifying circuitry and mechanical components using hand and power tools.
3. Utilizes equipment requiring interpretation of data to troubleshoot, debug and perform routine measurements on mechanical assemblies, sub-systems and/or systems.
4. Uses micrometers, Vernier calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring tools to ensure products meet in-process and final tolerances.
5. Ope***s standard machine shop equipment to construct, rebuild or repair metal / mechanical parts and equipment.
6. Sets up standard test apparatus and conducts operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production model.
7. Installs equipment field changes. Assembles and/or modifies wires, insulation and components using hand and power tools. Installs assemblies and hardware into housing.
8. Compiles, computes, analyzes, interprets and presents a wide variety of engineering data as required.
9. Previews designs or specifications for completeness, accuracy, adequacy and compliance with company and/or customer specifications.
10. Develops and/or prepares schematics, designs, specifications, test procedures, parts lists, etc.
11. Issues complete or partial kits to meet delivery requirements of ongoing contracts. In cases of partial kits, maintains records of shortages and issues shortages when received to complete assemblies.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned.
III. WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
A. Physical Tasks Exerts frequent physical energy. Climbs ladders. Lifts and carries heavy objects.
B. Working Conditions occasionally exposed to disagreeable conditions.
May work extended hours or weekends.
May travel overnight or on weekends.
VI. OTHER JOB RELATED INFORMATION:
This position requires frequent travel to perform overhauls and engineering support, on a wide variety of Instrumentation Equipment.
Travel may be to remote locations, both foreign and domestic.
Performs other related duties while on travel.
Skills Set:
Experience adjusting, calibrating, aligning or modifying circuitry and mechanical components---------------------------------

Experience in the above in a defense-related environment---------------------------------
Required Skill Set :

Four years of related experience on the below
